Showing off True Launch Bar, a desktop enhancement product I should have found long-long ago. Check it out here: [link]
Not only it gives system metering capabilities similar to Samurize or Rainmeter as seen here: [link] but also the most flexible menu system I recently came across. Similar custom menus are part of shell replacements like LiteStep or BlackBox for Windows, here you got it even without replacing your shell.
True Launch Bar basically replaces your quicklaunch menu, but since the icons are replacable and resizable, the menus are skinnable, or like in my case simply some colours and glass effects could be applied to reach quite some eye-candy can be set up quickly.
True Launch Bar also allows "Tear off" menus like in the downmost desktop that can appear under your mouse if activated with a hotkey.
i really enjoy your desktop, how much of it is "hacked" and how much is native 7 or tlb? do you have a complete theme pack somewhere to download? also like the tlb theme. would be great if you share as much infos/links as possible about your great theme.
That's native Vista and TLB. The skins for the TLB plugins are released in a pack here: [link]
Only "hack" is that I add the taskbar shadow to my wallpapers with photoshop before applying them because I don't want to run a separate app just to add a shadow.
